Hi! My name is Rachel Nemez, and I’m an animator and recent graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art!

Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Rachel Nemez is a Baltimore based stop motion and 2D animator, and recent graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She pulls inspiration from items and buildings that have experienced wear and tear through human intervention and incorporates it through her work. Nemez envelops silliness and experimentation in her artistic practice, whilst considering the materiality and personality from what is considered 'worn'. Probably due to her upbringing around decrepit cow farms. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She also is a lover of cartoons; the humor and charm frequently found in them is emulated in her work. Especially using slapstick tactics, and the good ol’ squash and stretch!
